*REP KWAMOTI B. LAORI MOURNS LATE ALHAJI BAMANGA TUKUR*

 

The Rt. Hon. Kwamoti B. Laori, on behalf of his family and the good people of Demsa/Numan/Lamurde Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, mourns the passing of the elder statesman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, former Governor of the defunct Gongola State and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), whose remains were laid to rest in Yola today.

Rt. Hon. Kwamoti Laori extends his heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Adamawa State, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri; the Secretary to the Government of Adamawa State, Hon. Auwal Bamanga Tukur; the Tukur family; and the entire people of Adamawa State over the loss of this distinguished elder and statesman.

He described the late Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as a father, patriot and accomplished statesman whose contributions to Nigeria's economic, political and democratic development remain significant. Though he lived to a ripe old age, his wise counsel, fatherly guidance and invaluable experience will be deeply missed, particularly at a time when the nation continues to benefit from the wisdom and guidance of its elder statesmen.

“Baba Bamanga Tukur lived a remarkable life of service and left an enduring legacy. His counsel, wisdom and contributions to our state and nation will be greatly missed.”

May Almighty God forgive his shortcomings, grant him eternal rest, and give the Tukur family, the Government and people of Adamawa State, and all who mourn him the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
