NORTH EAST MULTI- "SECTORAL CRISIS RECOVERY PROJECT"(MCRP) SIGNS MOU WITH MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE/LIVESTOCK."

The Government of Nigeria and World Bank have concluded negotiations and reached an  agreements on the MCRP in January 2017 and became effective in the early 2018.


"The North-east multi sectoral crisis recovery project", Presidential Committee on North east Initiative( PCNI) Recovery has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding)with Ministry of Agriculture and that of Livestock for the provision of technical assistance to the affected areas in the North east.
  
"Since 2009, the North eastern part of the country has been affected directly by the activities" of insurgency impacting the lives of many people leading to the loss of lives and Internal displacement across international borders. This conflict has triggered an acute humanitarian and forced displacement crisis with devastating social and economic impacts on the population resulting to poverty and fragility in the region.
"Regarding such, the MCRP is going to support the Government of Nigeria toward rehabilitating" and improving critical service delivery, infrastructure, improving the livehood of conflict and displacement - affected communities and strengthening socio- cohesion in the states of  Adamawa, Borno and Yobe to achieve the project Development objectives( PDOs) in four proposed companents;
COMPANENT1, Strengthening peace building and socio cohesion which focuses on increasing community resilience and cohesion, Transitional support towards stabilizing and self- reliance, citizen- government relationship building for recovery.
COMPANENT 2, Infrastructure Rehabilitation and service delivery, restoration and improvement such as Transport, water and sanitation, education, health, public building.
COMPANENT 3,
Technical assistance and program management support. Lastly
COMPANENT 4,
Contingency Emergency Response companent.
